I am a DIY person and have done most maintenance and repairs on my vehicles for over 30 years. I had gotten tired of being charged $30-40 per event for reading and clearing Misc codes from my newer vehicles. Sometimes to have the shop tell me it was nothing but a temp misfire, fuel pressure fluxuation, etc... I read product reviews by others on this site and made my purchase. It is exactly what I had in mind and I should have it paid for in 3-4 events. I think the basic code reader could suit most people and give you some peace of mind and opportunities to avoid some shop OH costs. But I paid a little more for the ability to see real time data, to keep an eye on suspect O2 sensors etc...Anyone that knows a little about vehicles can benefit from this tool and there is plenty of educational info on the internet to bring you up to speed. This tool is very easy to use.

[[VIDEOID:mo1U8SBIJMP50SN]]Okay so I have an accord and wanted to put my awesome alpine stereo into it...the only 2 options were this or the UGLY method where the deck is mounted below the dash.
So I bought this almost 4 years ago and it has worked FLAWLESSLY! All the knobs work as they are supposed to, the buttons light up when they are supposed to and the deck fits wonderfully. Once I got this installed (I did it myself but it took a VERY LONG time my first time) and it works fine. Just one problem I ran into is when installing it, if the wires are too close behind the unit, the buttons won't press all the way in, or if they do, they get stuck and don't pop up (think sticky keys), to fix this, just rearrange the wires in the back so it slides in easy and they are not just smashed in back there. Zip ties work well for this job.
To the people who have had issues, I would return it and get a different one of the same unit, my knobs do not come off (even though I have tried intentionally to remove them, and I could not do it), all the buttons work great, it lights up, it has a place to plug in your cars harness for the heat/A/C controls, and to top it off, the color even matches the surrounding area. When people see this in my car they don't even know that it was not factory and I ALWAYS get compliments from dealers (when I go for repairs) of how nice it looks and how much better it is than factory.
NO PROBLEMS WITH THIS AT ALL. If you want to add some nice sub's, speakers, stereo w/mp3 cd / ipod controls in your accord...get this... you will not be disappointed.
